The Johnston Amateur Radio Society was formed in September of 1975. The "JARS" group has come a long way in its almost 26 years. A monthly newsletter is sent to the membership to keep everyone informed of current events and JARS members also have access to the 147.27+ AK4H repeater. The JARS sponsors a ham fest every year in Benson, NC. If you don't make any other Ham fest this year make sure its this one. The members of the JARS meet the third Thursday of every month at Michael's "Map". Visitors are always welcome! Talk in is on 147.270. The JARS name badge has a blue background with white letters and the engraved JARS logo. The JARS badge is $15.50 with a safety pin fastener. For additional information on the Johnston Amateur Radio Society, please visit their web site or send an e-mail to Byron King, K4NGJ.
